Sirjiwan joined the Wockhardt family when the company acquired Merind in 1998. He was then heading Merind’s plant operations, and became actively involved in the post-acquisition integration and rationalisation. In 2002, he was appointed as General Manager - Contract Manufacturing based at the Corporate Office in Mumbai, responsible for selecting new suppliers, commercial negotiations and introducing new products through third party manufacturers. In July 2003, he was posted in UK to handle the integration activities of the newly acquired CP Pharmaceuticals with Wockhardt. With the support of his UK colleagues, Sirjiwan played a key role in bridging the bond between the organisations, helped restructure the product portfolio, and oversaw local business performance. In a year’s time, he was promoted as Managing Director of Wockhardt UK. Today, he is responsible for Wockhardt's UK business as a profit centre head. He oversees sales, marketing, manufacturing and operations in UK. He implements the corporate strategy in UK by exploring alliances and tapping new business opportunities.
Sirjiwan says
Wockhardt is an organisation which recognises talent and capability, along with hard work towards meeting the company’s goals, and bestows due recognition to contributors. For motivated professionals, it is a pleasure to be associated with Wockhardt. The outcome is a sense of achievement coupled with extreme professional satisfaction. For me, it’s a great experience exchanging knowledge and experience with colleagues in UK. |
